英語の契約書でよく使われる言い回しの例を一覧にまとめました。

反復表現について
英文契約書特有の表現の1つに、同じような意味の単語を重ねて用いられる「反復表現」があります。
こうした表現をする理由は2つあります。
- その条項がカバーする範囲を広げることができるため
- 歴史的な背景（その昔イングランドを征服したフランス・ノルマン人が、公用語をフランス語としていた名残り）

英語の契約書で用いられる専門用語
英文契約書には多くの法律関係用語が登場します。中には、日常英語で使用される場合と法律用語として使われる場合で意味が違う場合があるので注意が必要です。
英文契約書の「書式」で用いる専門用語
英文契約書の書式は大きく分けて2種類あります。
- フォーマルな英文契約書の書式
- 平易な書式
フォーマルな書式は古風な英語を使用していますが、現代でもフォーマルな書式として使用されています。
最近は平易な英文（Plain English）で英文契約書が書かれる傾向があります。ただし、一部の古風な表現が使われなくなったくらいで、本文そのものの書き方にはほとんど変化はありません。

英文契約書の本文（Operaive Provision）には、主に下記の2点が盛り込まれます。
- 主要条件（Principal Terms）：その契約独自の特別合意事項
- 一般条項（General Provision）：他の英文契約書にも共通してよく記載される条項
この部分は契約書の中でも最も重要な部分です。
「主要条件」条項、「一般条項」には大体似たような表現が用いられます。
